Christmas Eve, after I got off work, we kept M up a little past her bedtime and went out to dinner for Chinese (naturally)...
Reading up on real estate in the area while we paid our bill.
and then went to see some lights in a neighborhood in Knightdale. They. Were. AWESOME!

We planned an easy dinner for Christmas Day (no turkey) and my parents came in the late morning. I LOVE how Christmas turned out this year and hope we can make this happen every year from now on. Now I just need to convince Hops this is something we should do... (other than the "me working all week" part).
And so, I present to you, Christmas 2013:
Please note the giant giraffe. A gift from my brother.
This was the best - take the gifts out of the package before wrapping. No waiting for mom and dad to open it.
"Look, Mom! These things! These things are the BEST GIFT EVER!" (from my stocking)
It was a really fun day. This age is cute. M would open a gift and then not want to do anything else but play with that one gift. We distracted her pretty well to get to new ones but she definitely had favorites this year. The Little People Zoo, Megabloks (especially combined with her new table and chairs) and her gardening bag (now turned into a purse). I was pleased that, after a few days, she became pretty attached to the baby doll I got her. Now she sleeps with it and asks for it (by pointing) when we get ready for bed. Merry Belated Christmas from 2013!!
