The reason Hopscotch and I went up to Ohio a few weeks ago was to visit my 92 year old Gram. She had been diagnosed with cancer and was told she had just a few months to live. She had been moved out of her apartment, where she had lived for 20 years on her own, to a Catholic cancer hospice home in Cleveland. She was happy, if she had to be somewhere other than her own apartment, to be in a place where there were people just like her; Catholics. We spent a good amount of time with her while we were up there and I think our busy toddler sure did bring a lot of joy to her days while we were there.
Gram passed away yesterday, on Grandparents Day.
She was a Mother to 4, Gram to 11 and Great Gram to 12. And that's not including spouses.
Our family will miss her dearly. I'm just so glad we got to spend some time with her before she left to be with Grandpa.
I love this photo my cousin put on Facebook.
What a great shot of Gram and Grandpa back in their heyday. :)
