Playing a Game

I was tagged by Meg at Made By Meg to play a little blog game. This came at a pretty good time when I haven't taken many pictures of the projects I've been working on at home, so this allows me a break to update the blog and answer some fun questions. Here goes:


What is your favorite song to sing along to?
Currently - Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes. Super catchy song that even has a lyric in it about singing along to the radio. :)
If you could have a vacation home in any location where would it be?
Anywhere? Well, it would have to be oceanfront with neighbors who weren't up on top of our house. The weather would be like North Carolina's weather. I'm not sure where but I do know the oceanfront part of it.
What is your favorite time of year?
Spring. Trees and flowers are budding, birds are chirping and we have the heat of winter to look forward to. People come out of hibernation and you start seeing your neighbors outside when you're walking the neighborhood. People just seem ready to strike up a conversation after they've been cooped up in their homes all winter!
Cats or dogs?
Cats. Odd, considering we have two dogs, huh? With marriage came the addition of allergies to our household. Hops is allergic to cats, his mother is deathly allergic to them. If we had kept my cats in our new home, the in-laws could never come visit. Yes, some may see this as a good thing, I'm trying to err on the side of kindness. 
Coffee, tea, or cocoa?
Coffee. While I'm not a huge hot drink person, I do enjoy a good Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha as a treat now and then. I can't wait to have a real one again after baby girl Hopkins is born!!
Where did you go on your first date?
P.F. Changs. I called him up and asked him if he wanted to go out with me. I left a message on his voicemail, a long, rambling message, and the other day, he played it for me. Yes! He still has that tape from his old voicemail machine. 
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Mmmmm....at this moment - Mint Chocolate Chip. I am on a big ice cream kick right now. I sent my husband to the grocery store to pick some up the other day and really didn't care what he got as long as it was "ice cream with stuff in it." Rocky Road, Mint Chocolate Chip, Moose Tracks, etc. All are delicious.
Where would you like to go on your next vacation?
Alaska. We both absolutely adored our cruise through the Caribbean that we took for our honeymoon. We agree that cruising is the way to go. Our next vacation is definitely years off from now but maybe for our 10th wedding anniversary?
Sunset or sunrise?
Sunrise. I don't see sunrises enough and know I'm missing out on some serious beauty. I think sunsets are absolutely gorgeous, as well but the elusiveness of the sunrise puts it just over the top for me.
What are two of your favorite blogs and why?
Well this is a tricky one, isn't it? I used to be a huge fan of food bloggers but then I found that a lot of them were starting to sound the same. I think right now some of my favorite blogs are amusing pregnancy or mommy blogs. 269 Days has made me laugh with these posts here, here and here. I also get much enjoyment out of reading Snarky in the Suburbs. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy all of the other blogs I have in my Reader, but humor is really making me happy these days.
What skill do you want to learn or perfect this year?
I am going to learn how to use my sewing machine and I am going to make a bunting for our nursery. Please note, I have never, ever used this sewing machine. Last weekend I took it out to see if I could thread the needle. I DID! And then I figured out you have to have that piece at the bottom that holds the fabric down all the way down to actually allow your stitches to take. Uh huh. I'm a beginner's beginner. 
There is one other skill that I will need to learn this year. Motherhood. I cannot wait to start learning that one!
