This is totally random, by the way.
I have never been a huge fan of grocery shopping. We eat pretty healthy and frugally in our house, so a normal grocery store visit keeps us on the edges of the grocery store - fresh fruits and veggies, meats and dairy products. We wander down other aisles for frozen veggies, canned tomatoes for sauces, crackers, bread and sometimes soda and beer. I go down the baking aisle to keep my pantry stocked with flour, sugar, chocolate chips, coconut and other baking necessities. While we eat healthy, I do love to bake and I'm not all crunchy where we can only eat "real" foods. If you try to exclude white sugar from my diet, we will fight.
Last night I was at Target, picking up a prescription, so I decided to grab a few things I wanted while I was there. The Walmart was just down the street but I was feeling lazy and tired. I think we can afford the extra $1.23 (estimated, of course) that I spent on groceries that I might have saved at Walmart this time. I went into Target on a mission to get salad bags. I had a craving for salad. Odd, considering my previous cravings had been for crab rangoon, cookies, rice krispy treats and Twinkies. I picked up a basket and tossed a couple of salad bags into it. I then saw some delicious looking ranch
I figured I was done, so I walked over to the pharmacy where I was told I still had another 20 minutes to wait. I thought that meant I needed to continue walking up and down the grocery aisles. There is nothing like impulse shopping when you're pregnant, let me tell you. In addition to the frozen goodies, I also added to my cart: brownie mix, vegetable dumplings (frozen) and a 4-pack of Izze soda. I can claim the Izze as a good purchase because it is made with real fruit juices and doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it. Same with the boxes of fruit punch I bought. Oh, I guess I forgot to mention those, too...
Anyways. Apparently me being pregnant means I spend more and eat interesting meals. See how I did that? I totally just blamed my $45 grocery bill on my pregnancy. The next 7 months are going to be AWESOME if this keeps up and my husband doesn't kill me for going overboard on these pregnancy cravings.

Too funny. In the past 3 months I've bought Oreos, Cheetos, frozen fried shrimp and french fries, mozzarella sticks, and potato chips. I would never normally buy any of those things, but when you're nauseous and pregnant, you just gotta do whatever gets you through the day!
I'm pretty sure the best part about being pregnant would be getting to eat whatever you want. More interesting, yes, that's how to justify it! :)
