I'm wondering if this feeling is going to continue every single time we hear our baby's heartbeat. I am guessing it will because it is one of the most amazing things I have ever heard. We went in today to do a quick check and to hear that heartbeat. Loud and proud at 160 beats per second. Phew. In the world of gender prediction, this would tell us that we're having a girl. I won't believe it until we actually see the ultrasound that tells us for sure what we are having. The best news that comes out of this appointment is we finally can tell our family and friends that we're expecting! We are both slightly superstitious and want to make sure things are going just right before we let people know. That heartbeat did us in, it's time.
We bought some Christmas cards from VistaPrint and are telling most of the family and our close friends with the cards. I'm sure we'll break down and call some people before they receive the cards but we're looking forward to sending them out and getting responses back!
After they arrived, we realized that 1 looks kind of funny. Who writes a number 1 like that? Well, we figure they'll get it once they read the text below. Inside we just said, "We hope you have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. My parents are coming and we're going to tell them. I'm going to try to get my husband to video tape my Mom's reaction (you can read what really happened with that here). I think it will be priceless. I'm really wondering if she has any clue. No one knew that we were trying to conceive, so it will be interesting to find out if she wondered it or not. This Thanksgiving, we have a lot to be thankful for.

How far along?: 12 weeks on Saturday!
Total weight gain/loss: Lost 1 pound.
The Bump: Yeah, it's there.
What I’m excited about/looking forward to: Telling my parents tomorrow and our families this weekend. I can't wait until they get those Christmas cards!!
Maternity Clothes: I now own 2 pairs of maternity pants and a belly band that I am wearing with my jeans. It works well with my jeans so I'm going with it.
Symptoms: Some gagging still. Belly is getting chubbier.
Belly Button in or out?: In.
Food Cravings/Aversions: Aversions: Meat, leftover food.
Milestones: 12 weeks! TWELVE WEEKS! We can tell people already!!!
