We both passed on the news to our bosses and some of our co-workers. My boss must be one of the most awesome bosses ever. I finally got to tell him on Thursday and his reaction was fantastic. He didn't ask me any questions about what my plans were, he just said, "I want you to take as much time as you need off when you have the baby." He also told me that he thinks Hops and I will make great parents and that he couldn't be happier for us. I tell you what, I am very lucky to have such a great boss. We didn't talk details yet because honestly, Hops and I have no idea what we're going to do when the baby comes. We have many more months to think about it.
For now, things are going really well. I have an appetite again and I have my energy back. I'm hoping this keeps up for the rest of the second trimester. Sleeping is starting to become difficult. I'm waking up at 3am on the dot every morning and sometimes I get back to sleep, sometimes I don't. It all depends if I can get comfortable or not. I'm very thankful for our tempur-pedic bed. A lot of women complain about hip pain because they're not used to sleeping on their sides. So far, I haven't had a problem, I'm just adjusting to this new way of sleeping. It is not normal for a stomach/back sleeper to suddenly have to sleep on her side!
---------------------------------------------
How far along?: 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Lost 1lb in the first trimester. Doctor asked me if I was eating. I gave him a look.
The Bump: It's currently very oddly shaped. My body is obviously changing to allow room for this baby but it's certainly doing strange things right now. I'm looking forward to when it's a solid bump. :)
What I’m excited about/looking forward to: My body changing some more and finding out the sex - on January 12th!!
Maternity Clothes: 2 pairs of pants - 1 cargo, 1 black stretch pants that look just appropriate enough for work. 1 shirt from Kohls that I adore and want to wear every day with leggings and boots. Maybe I need more than one?
Symptoms: I can no longer sleep on my belly. Other than that, a lot of my symptoms have subsided for now. As for good symptoms: my nails are in fantastic shape. I have never had strong nails before and now, before I even notice it, my nails are all super long. I am trying to keep them trimmed just because if I let them go too far, they do finally break on me. This is fun!
Belly Button in or out?: In.
Food Cravings/Aversions: Aversions: Still some meat aversions.
Milestones: 12 Weeks! The cat is out of the bag!
