Hello From San Francisco!

Phew, it already feels like I've been here for a week and I just got here on Saturday. My flight out on Saturday was one of the longest I have ever endured. I accidentally booked myself on the earlier flight out of RDU that gave me a 3 1/2 hr layover in Dulles. Ooops. We got on our plane to SFO right on time. As soon as everyone was seated, we were told that San Francsico was having horrible winds (up to 40mph) and they weren't allowing planes to land. Well, I don't think anyone would want to fly in 40mph winds, so we were all pretty much ok with that. We were still attached to the jet bridge, but we sat on the plane for an hour and a half waiting for the go ahead. Finally we shoved off, got to #2 for takeoff aaaaand....there's weather in Dulles. Ha! The flight that will never end. Thankfully we only waited another 45 minutes or so for that to pass by and we were on our way. I arrived at SFO at 7:30pm local time and drove the 2 hours up to Sonoma where I was staying for two nights.

I got a good night's sleep and at 4am PST, I was wide awake and ready to go. Uh oh. I decided to kill an hour and a half and then go find the sunrise. While I didn't find the sunrise, I did find some pretty views.

I drove down the road where I would head later in the day to go wine tasting. It was a good choice.

The fog was pretty heavy that early in the morning but 2 hours later, it had all burned off into a gorgeous day.

I was tired and hungry at this point and I had a few hours to burn before I could start my wine tasting adventures, so I went back to my hotel room and napped for a couple of hours. I got up at 9:30 and headed out for a day of adventures that was beyond what I had expected. I'll leave you with a little preview of the places I went:
