Fly to Virginia, stay 2 nights
Drive home.
I need the following:
Personal Items for Friday night/Saturday early morning.
Personal Itemss for two days of fun in New York.
Personal Items for a Saturday evening Broadway musical and a Sunday afternoon brunch/musical combo.
Personal Items for 4 work days at our customer's site in New York.
Personal Items for 2 nights/days at a scrapbook retreat in Virginia.
Scrapbook supplies for 2 days of scrapbooking in Virginia.
Oh my.
My first stop was to the spare bedroom to figure out which bags/suitcases I was going to need. It was also to find my packing supplies. Have you ever heard of Eagle Creek? Best packing supplies ever!! I have two pack-it cubes, two pack-it tubes, a pack-it folder and a complete organizer.
All right. So, I have my packing supplies and my "stuff" all laid out. Now to decide what goes where. I made three piles - overnight, NY and scrapbook. The scrapbook personal stuff I'll be tossing into an over the shoulder bag since I don't need that much. I don't want to re-use anything from my NY stuff, though (like jeans) because I don't want to have to move stuff around when I get back from NY. The overnight is my biggest challenge. I don't have a spare hair dryer to put in an overnight bag but I might be able to pack the hair dryer and other items into my complete organizer...hmmm.... I'm going to go work on this.
I have: 8 shirts, 2 sweaters, one wool coat, one wool scarf, two cotton scarves, 5 pairs of shoes (I did good!), two sweater dresses, two pairs of leggings, 5 pairs of pants and two pairs of jeans. I paired all of that down from 11 shirts, two coats, 8 pairs of shoes, 7 pairs of pants and 4 pairs of leggings. :)
Update: I wrote the earlier bits of this post yesterday, now it's morning and I'm all packed. I decided to put overnight and scrapbook into one bag, making my life a whole lot easier. I'll use my friend's hair dryer on Saturday morning before she takes me to the airport. Everything else is set. I'll throw my used Friday clothes into my overnight bag so I can reuse if needed.
Packing = complete. This might have been my best packing job yet. No pictures...I know...I left the memory card that I took all of my packing pictures on at home when I swapped it out for the 16Gb one. Ooops.

Tomorrow, I'll hopefully have a suitcase that is under 50lbs to head out on one of these:
